Masters 2026 Winner Takes Home Record $3.6 Million Prize...

The winner of the 2026 Masters Tournament will earn a record $3.6 million, the highest payout in the event's history. Augusta National Golf Club announced the increased purse Sunday morning, just hours before the final round teed off in Augusta, Georgia.

This year's champion will receive $400,000 more than Scottie Scheffler earned for his 2024 victory. The total tournament purse grew to $20 million, up from $18 million last year. The runner-up will take home $2.16 million, while even the 50th-place finisher earns $37,800.

The prize bump comes as golf's major championships compete to attract top talent amid the sport's ongoing division between PGA Tour and LIV Golf players. Augusta National chairman Fred Ridley called the increase "a reflection of our commitment to the players" during a press conference Saturday.

Fans have been searching "how much for winning the Masters" as the final round unfolds Sunday. The tournament's growing payout has become a hot topic, especially with several LIV Golf stars competing this weekend despite their PGA Tour suspensions.

Tiger Woods, who missed the cut Friday, earned $18,000 for finishing outside the top 50. That's still more than the $10,000 minimum payout awarded to all professionals who complete the tournament. Amateurs receive no prize money but keep their traditional green jacket if they win.

The Masters remains the most lucrative major in golf, surpassing the PGA Championship's $18.5 million purse and the U.S. Open's $20 million total. Only the Players Championship offers a larger winner's share at $4.5 million.

Sunday's final round airs live on CBS starting at 2 p.m. ET. The winner will be presented with the iconic green jacket during the evening ceremony at Augusta National's Butler Cabin.
